Tensile structures can be classified by their support system. Cable-supported structures utilize cables, which are ideal for large, column-free spans. Mast-supported structures rely on poles for flexible designs in plazas or temporary events. Frame-supported structures attach to rigid frames for semi-permanent or permanent buildings. Air-supported structures maintain their shape with internal air pressure and are suitable for use in arenas and exhibition halls.
